These latest trend towards large mesh ceilings  has made for some interesting lighting challenges. We don’t want to suspend anything under the mesh, and there is nothing to recess a fitting in to. In this tenancy, we decided to suspend track above the mesh, with the track spots suspended to the level of the underside of the mesh. This solution made it easier for the installers, as well as providing flexibility should fittings need to be moved in the future. The fitting used was the LT1248 Track Mounted Spotlight.

The boardroom pendant is our Australian Made GEO PS5075. With Tridonic LED Boards and driver, this fitting comes with a 5 year warranty. This fitting is DALI dimmable, but it can also be dimmed using Push Dim, where there is no DALI system in place.

The Kitchen /Breakout space was illuminated using the LT1248 Track Spot. We used 3 circuit track mounted above the suspended mesh ceiling to make the install easier for the electrician, as well as providing more flexibility for future changes to the layout.  The lighting under the overhead joinery being provided by the GEO 1708 profile and Galaxy Pro LED Strip. This combination of LED and Profile enables us to achieve a completely uniform light source due to the LED tape having 350LEDs per meter. We can even cut the LED every 20mm so there are no dark spots at either end. All of this in a profile that is only 8mm deep. While this can not be seen, it is of great advantage to the joinery maker as it can be rebated into a 16mm MDF panel, without the need for additional panels, or thicker material.

The breakout space was highlighted by using a custom timber pendant to highlight the wood grain in the table top. Locally made in out factory in Dingley Village, this fitting is manufactured from a Tasmanian Oak 50mm Dowel that has been clear coated. We have recessed a piece of our GEO 1715 profile, and supplied with a DALI driver to integrate with the existing Honeywell control system.
