This fitout at 550 Bourke St, working with the design team from Topic interiors really gave us the opportunity to make the ceiling the highlight. The exposed ceilings finished in feature colours were a highlight that needed to be accentuated. As wel the large circular cutouts.
The ideal fiting with which to do this was the GEO PS60D. This linear fitting has a round opal diffuser that emits a uniform light both sideways, and upwards. Think is unlike a traditional up / down linear profile that hase a narrower distribution, creating a “line” on the ceiling, especially where there is a lower ceiling preventing the fitting being suspended any distance from the ceiling.

The design team also used circular highlights in the carpet, with round meeting room tables and round curtain tracks. It made sense to carry these round elements up to the ceiling making round cutouts in the ceiling. For there, it was logical for us to use our Circle profile for the Shapes range. This range includes profiles up to 100 x 100mm in size, and can be made up to 7 meters in diameter.
While decorative in nature, these Circle fitting is also very functional. With outputs up to 2000LM/M, these fittings can be used for task, or display lighting, without the need for additional lighting in support.
The two fittings pictured here are 3 meters, and 2.4 meters in diameter, with a profile size of 40mm x 80mm.
The fitting in this enclosed meeting room is 2 meters in diameter to match the size of the meeting room table.
It was also decided to highlight the many round columns in the tenancy. 900mm diameter Circle fittings were used to create a holo of light around the columns.
For the boardroom, we decided to use recessed linear fittings, rather than a suspended profile. We wanted something with a bit of substance, so used the largest of our Australian Made fittings, which is the GEO PS8037. This was suppoerted with our DL170 minimal trim downlight. The downlight has up to a 60 degree beam angle, and up to 1900 Lumens which enables up to achieve an even illumination from relatively low ceings heights.
