Interglo Lighting was asked to assist in updating the lighting in the Vincent Hotel in Albert Park. The brief was to replace the existing chandeliers with linear LED pendants made from Tasmanian Oak beams. The challenge was that the fittings needed to be dimmable.
The building is very old, with high ceilings and elaborate cornice work and ceiling roses, so running additional cables was not possible. The existing lighting control was a Dynalite system, and the wiring to these fittings was for Phase Cut. Because of the inability to run additional cabling, it was not possible to use 1-10V, PWM or DALI dimming.
We were able to source Power Source’s PDV series AC phase cut dimmable LED drivers from ADM, which were compatible with the existing Dynalite lighting control system.
As we manufactured the timber pendants in our factory, we were able to position the cable entries to the fittings in the correct position so the existing ceiling roses could be used.
